Troop 9091 and the Boy Scouts of America exist to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potential as individuals, responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
There are many reasons why a youth should join scouting. Here are just a few:
Learn new skills. Scouting offers a wide range of merit badges and other programs that can teach youth valuable life skills in a variety of areas, including camping, hiking, first aid, cooking, and more.
Develop leadership skills. Scouting provides youth with opportunities to take on leadership roles in their troops and crews. This can help them to develop confidence, communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
Build character. Scouting teaches youth important values such as honesty, respect, and responsibility. It also helps them to develop a sense of community and civic engagement.
Have fun and make new friends. Scouting is a great way for youth to get outdoors, have fun, and make new friends. They will participate in a variety of activities, such as camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and more.
In addition to these general benefits, scouting can also offer youth specific advantages in other areas of their lives. For example, studies have shown that scouts are more likely to graduate from high school, go on to college, and succeed in their careers. Scouts are also more likely to be involved in their communities and volunteer their time.
Overall, scouting is a great way for youth to learn new skills, develop leadership skills, build character, and have fun. If you are looking for a program that can help your child to grow and succeed, scouting is a great option.
The troop gives the Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders and all Scouts the opportunity to lead by planning meetings, monthly campouts and going on high adventure trips. They will make decisions, solve problems and even make mistakes.
While all events are planned and led by the youth, our organization could not operate without active troop leaders. They serve as mentors, guides and ensure that safety is the number one priority.
